PERSONAL MINISTRIES/SABBATH SCHOOL DEPARTMENTAL REPORT 2016

The year 2016 was a challenging yet successful year for the Personal Ministries and Sabbath School Departments.  I can concur with the author of Lamentations when he exclaims in chapter 3:22-24, “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.  The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore, will I hope in him.”

The record would show that during the year a total of thirty five churches were visited.  Both Sabbath School and Personal Ministries training programmes were conducted.  In addition, many Wednesday evening prayer services were conducted where the service was divided into two parts; one specifically dedicated to prayer and the other half Sabbath School Action Unit training.

One of the historic achievements of the Sabbath School Department during the year was the production and printing of a book of stories of miracles experienced by members of our local congregations in the South England Conference.  The series of books are called “Here and now Stories of Faith and Mission”.  The Department is extremely proud of this feat since the stories can be used as local mission stories as well as outreach materials for family and friends.

August 3 – 17 was both signal and significant for the SEC.  During this period a number of Churches in London and one in Cambridge were engaged in the 3ABN evangelistic campaigns.  The unity of the Churches, the enthusiasm of the members and the artistic preaching of the preachers all combined to reap a harvest of 87 souls.  More persons are being baptised on a monthly basis because of the follow-up work done by the local Churches.

Schools of Evangelism, Mission and Leadership (SoEML) began again on the 18th September 2016 at the Highland House, Advent Centre, and Balham SDAC sites.  A webinar cohort in SDA music and worship also is up and running via webinar.  To date we have a total enrolment of over a hundred and fifty students taking over twelve different cohorts.  The Departments thank you for all your support as we continue this most interesting journey to Paradise.  GOOOOOO SEC, EVANGELISM, EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE!
